Livestock

A domain connecting crops, rainfall, water, livestock, and food security in one updateable picture.

National series only

These FAOSTAT data cover Syria as a whole and contain no governorate dimension. They separate live stocks from milk, egg, and meat production; those different measures must not be added together.

Cattle stocks fell from 1.01 million head in 2010 to 826,396 in 2024. Sheep and goats do not follow one simple trajectory, so the dashboard keeps the series separate.

Herds and their products

Filter by time, item, or measure. There is no governorate filter because the data are national.

How should conflict effects be read?

Changes in herd counts are consistent with pressures from displacement, feed, and markets, but they do not isolate one cause. This is a national production series, not direct tracking of household losses or herd locations.
